These terms cover your use of this website and the quotes you request through it. The contract that governs an actual shipment is the written agreement and dispatch paperwork you receive when you book, not this page. Where the two differ, the booking paperwork controls.
What we are
The Transport Buddy LLC is a Florida limited liability company operating as a licensed property broker under USDOT 3338442 and MC 1065129. We arrange transportation. We do not own trucks and we do not carry your vehicle ourselves. The motor carrier assigned to your shipment is the party that physically transports it and is responsible for it while it is in their custody.
Quotes
A quote is an offer to arrange transport at a stated price, based on the vehicle, route, trailer type, and dates you gave us. It is not a booking. A quote may be revised if the details change, for example if the vehicle is larger than described, will not start, is modified, or is loaded with personal belongings that were not disclosed. Quotes are valid for the period stated on the quote itself.
Booking, cancellation, and payment
A shipment is booked when you approve the quote in writing and we assign a carrier. Payment terms, deposit amount, and cancellation terms are stated on your quote before you approve it. Read them. Nothing is charged for requesting a quote.
Pickup and delivery windows
Pickup and delivery dates are estimates, not guarantees. Traffic, weather, road closures, mechanical problems, and hours of service rules all affect a truck in transit. We tell you what we know as soon as we know it. We are not liable for losses caused by a delay, such as rebooked flights or missed appointments, unless a guaranteed date is stated in writing on your booking paperwork.
Your vehicle and your belongings
You must have the legal right to ship the vehicle and must disclose its true condition, including whether it starts, rolls, steers, and brakes, and any modification that changes its size or ground clearance. Carriers are authorized to move vehicles, not household goods, and cargo insurance does not cover personal items left inside. Anything you leave in the vehicle is at your own risk.
Condition reports
The Bill of Lading signed at pickup and again at delivery is the record of the vehicle's condition. Inspect the vehicle at both ends, note anything you find on the document before signing, and photograph it. A claim is much harder to pursue when the delivery copy was signed clean.
Insurance and claims
Every carrier we dispatch is required to hold active operating authority and cargo insurance on file. Claims for damage in transit are made against the carrier's cargo policy. We will give you the assigned carrier's insurance details and help you file, but as a broker we are not the insurer.

Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, and by federal law where federal transportation rules apply.
